Fexon Technology Ltd: Intel launches 45-nanometer low-voltage server chips

Fexon Technology Ltd reports: Intel announced the launch of two low-voltage, 45-nm server and workstation microprocessors, thermal design power of 50 watts.

Intel said that the four nuclear L5400 Xeon server processors use 45-nanometer manufacturing technology advantages enhance the performance of the processor in the data center reduces energy consumption. With the four nuclear generation low voltage Xeon processors, processing speed increase by 25 per cent. But still thermal design power of 50 watts.

Intel, the new processor codenamed the L5420 and L5410, the clock frequency of 2.5 GHz and 2.33 GHz, 12MB cache, for the 1333 MHz front-side bus. 1000 wholesale price for 380 US dollars and 320 US dollars.

Intel pointed out that many system manufacturers support the L5400 and L5210 series processors, including Asustek Computer, Dell, Fujitsu, Fujitsu / Siemens, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi, IBM, Panasonic, NEC and Quanta computers.

Next quarter, Intel will begin shipping the new low-voltage dual-core processors, the maximum thermal design power of 49W, the clock frequency of 3 GHz, 6 MB storage capacity, for the 1333 MHz front-side bus. Intel also will be embedded market existing four of the Xeon processor 5400, the four nuclear L5410 Xeon processors provide support for the life cycle of seven years.(Fexon Technology Ltd)
